Meet Our Pastor -
Rev. Dr. Neil Shirra Dawson, Sr., Ph.D
Pastor Dawson recently celebrated his 14th year anniversary as pastor of the Historical First African Missionary Baptist Church, Riceboro with joy and renew vigor.
Our Pastor is active in the community and serves on several executive boards including The Joshua House Rehabilitation Center, Coastal Outreach Soccer and Literacy Program and The Institute
for Human Service Development, Inc. He is a graduate of Tuskegee University, Tuskegee AL where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a doctorate in Theology from Wings of Faith Bible Institute.
Pastor Dawson is one who fears the Lord. Answering the call to preach the gospel over 19 years ago, he continues to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. He is a firm
believer in the power of prayer and in the truth “that the just shall live by faith.”
Pastor Dawson is committed to teaching faith through the word of God; Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Pastor Dawson is the husband of one wife, First Lady Karen Dawson. They have two adult children, Schaneille Dawson and Neil Dawson Jr.
